Class of 2004 Reading List [9.1.00]

List 3 of your favorite books or short stories and why they are your favorites.

Asked this question in an informal class survey, the Class of 2004 responded with an amazing reading list.
Besides siting specific series authors such as J.R. Tolkien, mystery books by Lois Duncan, Agatha Christie, Lloyd Alexander and the Redwall series (just fun) as their favorites, they were in agreement most often about 5 in particular.

It's not surprising that at an International High School, one student admitted "I've read only Japanese books... " and another avid reader explained, "I read too much and I forget all my favorite books."
