Ella Enchanted
Ella Enchanted does
take some Cinderella details, such as the lost slipper at the ball and
falling in love with the prince and the fairy godmother but it's not exactly
the Cinderella story. It's all about a girl named Ella who has been cursed
with obedience by the fairy Lucinda. Seriously. When given an order, she
has to obey or else she starts feeling sick. At her mother's funeral,
Ella meets the prince, Char, and they become good friends. Over the course
of time, Ella and Char fall in love. But thereÕs one thing I forgot to
tell you about. Ella also has an evil stepsister who knows about the curse.
So, fearing the harm that could come to the country if Haddie (=her evil
stepsister) had power over the queen, Ella must end the relationship between
her and Char. He's heartbroken, as is she, but when she finds out that
he's hosting three balls, where he plans to find a wife, Ella feels the
need to see Char again. So, she decides to disguise herself and go to
the balls. Unfortunately, Char sees her and, being the polite man he is,
introduces himself. They dance, they talk and he sees a certain charm
in this "mystery girl". On the third night, Haddie, who's been
jealous of the girl who's been hogging the prince three nights in a row,
decides to unmask this "mystery girl", only to find out that
it's Ella. Ella runs, loses the slipper, andÉ But I've said way too much.
