Spot's First Easter
It's Easter!!!! And how accommodating
would it be to go by the grand Easter fire and cuddle up with a good book?
In Spot's First Easter, the Easter Bunny has hidden six eggs for Spot
the dog and his friend Helen the hippo to find. The clever bunny gives
hints to the reader in order to find these strategically placed treats.
Available on paperback and hardback, Spot's First Easter is a book with
cutting edge suspense, putting the reader on the edge of his or her seat.
Although this book is lacking in a few areas. First and foremost would
be its story line, it just doesn't make sense. If the eggs which Spot
craves are chocolate, why would he want them? He can't eat chocolate or
else he'll die. Maybe this is a metaphor of some sort then, like people
always want what they shouldn't have. Perhaps I underestimated this book's
seriousness. Also, the character's of Eric Hill's epic children's tale
just aren't believable on the whole. My favorite character of this book
is a close call, but I would have to say it's Helen the hippo, because
hippos are tight. Although the Easter Bunny was pretty cool too.
