Ella Enchanted
The book "Ella Enchanted",
by Gail Carson Levine, is a remake of the classic fairy tale, "Cinderella".
In this version, the main character, Ella of Frell, falls under the evil
spell of the fairy Lucinda at birth, the "gift" of obedience. Because
of this, she has been forced to do anyone's bidding at any time, no matter
what it was, and she could not refuse, no matter how she tried to fight
it. But, she continually tries to cure herself, while she has to deal
with ogres, fairies, evil stepsisters and a stepmother, giants and other
magical creatures. And, she even catches her "Prince Char". Hmm, wonder
what that could stand for....I would recommend this book more to a younger
crowd, but any age can adore this book as I did.
