Interpreter of Maladies
"Interpreter of Maladies"
by Jhumpa Lahiri conveys several different Indian lives that are set in
either America or India. These stories address anyone who has ever felt
the emotional turmoil of being a foreigner or outsider. These confrontation
of every day life for an Indian family who has to struggle with keeping
to their traditions and transitioning into the new world they must learn
to live in, shows us how one of life's influential experience is being
a foreigner and how difficult it can be even if you're with your family.
Lahiri's writing brings out the culture of India in her writing, and you
can experience the true feeling of disappointment and exile. I recommend
this book because it taught me a lot about the difficulties of making
transitions in life.
